ASO AC Selects Alan Barrett to Serve in Seat 9 of the ICANN Board of Directors

The ASO AC is pleased to announce that it has selected Alan Barrett to serve for a three-year term in Seat 9 of the ICANN Board of Directors.

Mr. Barrett will begin his term at the conclusion of the ICANN 72 meeting scheduled to take place on 23-28 October 2021 in Seattle, USA. His term on Seat 9 will end in November 2024.

The ASO AC would like to thank all the candidates who stepped forward for the significant amount of time they devoted to the selection process and for their willingness to serve on the ICANN Board.

The ASO AC would also like to extend their appreciation to Ron da Silva for his six years of service to the numbers community on the ICANN Board.

Selection Process

Mr. Barrett’s appointment is the result of a lengthy selection process, which included a public call for nominations, a public comment period, written and videoconference interviews, as well as a voting process in which all eligible ASO AC members were given the opportunity to vote.
