The Cross Community Working Group on Enhancing ICANN Accountability (CCWG-Accountability) has published its 2nd Draft Proposal with proposed improvements to ICANN’s accountability framework.
In a previous public comment period in May 2015, CCWG-Accountability sought feedback on the direction of its proposal and preferences among the alternatives that were proposed. The CCWG-Accountability has incorporated this input and is now seeking agreement on whether or not the proposal meets the community’s requirements.
Comments can be submitted via a web page. The comment period closes on 12 September 2015 at 23:59 UTC.
Two webinars will be held this week to discuss the proposal on 4 August 2015 from 19:00 – 21:00 UTC and 7 August 2015 from 07:00 – 09:00 UTC.
Next Steps
After the public comment period ends, CCWG-Accountability will reconvene to continue its work, aiming to finalise the Work Stream 1 proposal before submitting this to the Chartering Organisations and eventually to the ICANN Board of Directors.
