The NRO at the IGF
As the unified voice for the five Regional Internet Registries (RIRs), the Number Resource Organization (NRO) recognizes the participation of the public and private sectors, as well as all aspects of civil society, as critical to discussions on the future of the Internet.
As part of its continuing commitment to education and outreach, the NRO organised an Open Forum on Regional Internet Registries (RIRs) during the IGF 2017:
In addition, over the course of the week, the NRO and RIR staff contributed to many of the workshops and main sessions, including the RIPE NCC/EUROPOL-organised session, How can we Limit the Negative Impact of Carrier Grade NAT Technologies and Boost IPv6 Adoption. The webcast of this session can be found here.
The NRO booth in the IGF Village was a popular meeting place where staff from all five RIRs were available to answer questions about the NRO and the respective regional Internet communities.
