On Tuesday 26th January the RIRs (represented by the NRO EC and the RIR
lawyers) had an informal teleconference with ICANN (represented by the
IANA Operator and the ICANN lawyers) in order to discuss the third
version of the draft Service Level Agreement for the IANA Numbering
Services (third draft SLA) available here:
https://www.nro.net/wp-content/uploads/Numbers-SLA-3.0-clean.pdf.
Following ICANN’s comments on the third draft SLA on 24 November 2015
(https://www.nro.net/pipermail/ianaxfer/2015-November/000697.html ) and
RIRs’ response to these comments on 8 December 2015
(https://www.nro.net/pipermail/ianaxfer/2015-December/000701.html ),
ICANN was asking for some clarifications with regards to the intentions
of Article 5 (Fees), Article 12 (Intellectual property rights and rights
over data) and Articles 9 (Failure to perform), 10 (Term and
Termination) and 13 (Resolution of disputes).
The RIRs provided the clarifications needed and explained the intentions
of the RIRs community as described in the CRISP proposal. Furthermore it
requested from the ICANN lawyers to propose specific edits to the third
draft SLA with the relevant justification and submit them to the
IANAXFER mailing list for transparency purposes.
