The situation that I want to avoid is where there's a late 
comment, and it's easy to deal with, and we want to deal with it, 
but we have promised the community that we will not deal with late 
comments, so we can't deal with it.  "Soft deadline" is probably 
the wrong term for what I meant; I meant to specify a fixed date, 
but allow the possibility that we could consider late comments.
