NRO and ICANN comment on ITU Secretary General’s WTPF Report

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) and the Number Resource Organization (NRO) have written to the chair of the Informal Expert Group (IEG) of the World Telecommunication Policy Forum 2013 providing further comments on the International Telecommunication Union’s Secretary-General WTPF Report.

In the letter to the Chair of the IEG Mr Petko Kantchev, ICANN and NRO – comprised of the five Regional Internet Registries (RIRs) – comment on a wide range of issues in the ITU Secretary-General’s Report. Specifically, the comments relate to the Internet and how it is managed. The letter is copied to the ITU Secretary-General Dr Hamadoun Touré.

The letter is signed by IEG members Cathy Handley, the Executive Director, Government Affairs and Public Policy at ARIN, the Vice President, Europe ICANN Nigel Hickson and the Director General of APNIC Paul Wilson.

The latest comments are in addition to those provided in another letter of 28 September 2012.
