Current Activities

The NRO is actively participating in events leading to the Internet Governance Forum (IGF), the new forum for multi-stakeholder policy dialogue called for in the Tunis Agenda for the Information Society.

Past Activities

The NRO participated in the events surrounding the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS), which consisted of two phases. The first phase took place in Geneva from December 10-12, 2003. During discussions at the Preparatory Committees (PrepComs) before the first phase of the Summit and in Geneva during the first phase, Internet governance emerged as one of the leading discussion issues. The second phase of WSIS took place in Tunis from November 16-18, 2005.
